Oliver was so eager to come into the world that he came three weeks early. This little baby was only 5.5 pounds when he came into my studio. He was such a tiny cutie pie. Oliver’s dad is a Green Beret in the Army. He was deployed just a few weeks after Oliver was born, but he was lucky enough to be home for his son’s birth and for a few weeks after to bond with his baby. The family actually packed up and moved home just 24 hours after my session with them, so they could have family help while Dad was away.
Little Baby Oliver
I’ve been getting a bunch of preemie babies lately. With tiny peanuts like Oliver, there are certain poses that don’t work as well. He just didn’t quite have enough bum for the bum up pose, for example. But there are plenty of poses that still work for preemies and small newborns and even some poses that work better. Oliver was so flexible and squishy, that I could put him into some poses I don’t normally get to do.
We incorporated a lot of bright, beautiful colors in these portraits. We did some in an orange wrap and some in yellow to go with his giraffe friend. I think he really likes his giraffe already, by the way he’s smiling. 🙂 Of course, we did lots of green photos too for olive Oliver! We made sure to incorporate some of Dad’s service in the military as well, with his helmet and his green beret.
We did lots of photos with mom and dad too. I love the photos of the three of them together. They are just so photogenic! We wanted to make sure Dad had plenty of photos of the two of them to bring with him while on his deployment.
