A few years ago, I met this lovely couple, Claire and Brian, when I photographed their engagement session. We had an amazing ski town engagement session in Vail Village. They reached out to me again, this year, to let me know that they were going to be first time parents with a little baby boy! I was so excited to hear the news and to see them again. We booked their newborn session right away, so we could get their baby boy, Jack into the studio while he was still little. Even though this little guy was only a few weeks old, Baby Jack came into the studio with a full head of light brown hair. He came out with so much hair, we joke that he was born with a wig!
First Time Parents with Baby Jack
I love the outfits and color schemes this couple chose. We ended up photographing Jack with his parents first so that he would stay calm and happy in their arms. With Claire wearing yellow and Brian wearing blue, we wrapped Jack in a white and blue striped wrap and put them against a dark background. I just love this simple, modern look. Everyone looks so well coordinated. Jack looked great posed against the different blue and grey backgrounds I had as well.
This family loves the mountains so we wanted to photograph Jack with a mountainy set up. We went with a sort of Hungry Jack theme to play off of his name and get the lumberjack and mountain feel in there. I made a little nest for Jack out of logs and natural colored wraps and blankets. We chose a cute, modern background with little mountain peaks. These portraits turned out so cute! Be sure to scroll to the bottom to see them. We had some other fun set ups as well, like the mickey mouse outfit Claire and Brian brought in.
