A Super Weekend Engagement

March 24, 2016

Super Bowl Weekend

Dev called me a few weeks before Super Bowl Sunday to schedule a session. He was planning a surprise proposal but wanted to do engagement photos that same weekend! Of course he wanted to do them in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and, well, on Super Bowl Weekend.  As you know, the Broncos were in the Super Bowl (and won!)  so there weren’t a whole lot of photographers eager to trek up for a shoot in the mountains.  Not to mention both Dev and, his soon to be fiancee, Yesha still wanted to watch the game themselves (although he’s a Texans fan and she’s a Patriots fan).  As did I.  So we decided on a sunrise mountain session at Sapphire Point in Dillon, CO and then doing a few in Breckenridge.

Super Early

So at 4am I left my house and drove up the icy roads to the snow covered mountains of Keystone and Dillon and made it before sunrise and headed to the point.  And we were not disappointed!  We were graced by a beautiful pink and purple sunrise against the blue and white capped mountains and frozen lake.  We even had a few chipmunks photobomb a shot or two.  It was cold but these two had a great time snuggling up together.

Super Gorgeous

After we enjoyed the sunrise we made a quick trip to downtown Breckenridge to get some dressed up shots of these two.  Yesha in a cute white top and black skirt and Dev in a stylish grey suit.  We HAD to stop by a local restaurant there called Modi’s as Dev’s last name (and soon to be Yesha’s) is Modi.  🙂  All in all it was a bit cold but completely worth the effort to see these gorgeous images!  And of course see the Super Bowl, commercials and all.  🙂

Wow these are beautiful mountain engagement photos. I love those sunrise shots and the story of it being Super Bowl Sunday too. Although I’m not sure about photographing a Patriots fan. That might be where I’d draw the line. LOL. Gorgeous photos.

  8. Awesome pictures! You are a real trooper for driving up to the mountains at 4am in the winter…very few people would agree to that. I love the sunrise engagement pictures in the mountains as well as the downtown pictures. So cool there is a restaurant with their last name!

I've been a Colorado wedding and portrait photographer since 2006 in the days of photography yore. Every client is family to me and I love to grow and document each and everyone's most emotional moments and bundles of joy whether they be human or furbaby. It's very much the happiest days of a person's life and I feel purpose while documenting those moments.
