Ben and Britney are getting married this Saturday!!! I am so excited to capture their wedding day and watch them start this awesome new adventure in their lives! They are getting married at Edgewood Inn, in Woodland Park, Colorado. Since their wedding will be near Colorado Springs, we decided to mix things up and have their engagement session near Fort Collins. They were looking for a location that featured both water and mountains so a Horsetooth Reservoir engagement session was the perfect fit for them.
Ben went to school in Fort Collins, so this spot had extra meaning for him. It’s always fun to visit your old stomping grounds for a photo shoot! Actually, one of his friends saw him as we were taking photos and yelled out to us from the road! Small town, huh?
Ben and Britney’s Horsetooth Reservoir Engagement Session
As our session got closer, I started to worry a bit about the weather. The forecast had light rain but I decided we would be okay to go ahead with the session anyway. A little rain never hurt anybody, right? Well, when we got there, it wasn’t raining but there was solid fog all around, which meant no good views of the mountains! So we decided to wait about 20 minutes and I’m so glad we did! It cleared up and we got gorgeous views, with that beautiful moody sky! Thank goodness.
What I did not account for, however, was that all the trails were closed due to the rain and mud. We still were able to get all of these beautiful photos anyway. Even when the weather doesn’t cooperate and the session doesn’t go according to plan, there are still so many perfect pictures to be made. I am so excited to see what tomorrow brings, at Ben and Britney’s wedding! I’ll see you two tomorrow!
