Back in April, I had the amazing opportunity to travel to Oahu, Hawaii for work. Yes, for work! I have the best job! I flew out there to photograph a newborn session. It was the second child of former clients of mine, and I’m so glad I was able to be there to photograph both of their babies. Here’s a link to Baby Cora’s session if you’re interested! While I was there, I knew I wanted to do a few more sessions as well, so I booked this Hawaii family session and a couples session with just the parents.
A lot of photographers will only travel to photograph weddings, and I’ll totally do that too (hint, hint, brides and grooms to be!). I’m also happy to travel for portrait sessions of families, couples, and newborns! I try to book a few different session when I travel so that it is even more worth my while. I was really lucky this time to be able to book this amazing family session, on top of my newborn session!
Hawaii Family Session
This family was a friend of a friend, which was how we found each other. They were such a joy to work with. So easygoing and fun, they totally embodied the island lifestyle! Their two girls were so cute and playful. I just love that last photo we got of the two of them together. Sister love!
We actually did a couple’s session and family session in one, but I wanted to show you each part separately because there are just so many gorgeous photos! For the family portion of the session, we went to the beach at Bellows Air Force base, on the east side of Oahu island. I absolutely loved this spot because you can see the mountains of the island from the beach. It’s such an incredible view! It was a bit cloudy, which really just added to the drama and ambiance of the session. I love Hawaii and I am so ready to go back!
