Brittany & Clay will be having a lovely spring wedding in April of this year. I can’t wait! I was so excited when they came to me wanting a winter engagement session. So often, people are scared off from doing a photo session in the winter. They’re usually afraid it might be too cold or not pretty enough. In Colorado, we have a lot of warm winter days and there are so many locations that are just gorgeous in the winter. I think some places are prettiest this time of year! We did their engagement session at Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs because it is always pretty in winter. This place just takes my breath away!
Brittany + Clay’s Winter Engagement
These two brought their cute little dog, Laird, with them to their session. They even dressed him up in a cute little bowtie! Britanny and Clay had two different “looks” or outfits. This couple is so fashionable. I love the clothes they brought. Their second outfits had layers so we were able to get in a lot of different looks in with just two outfits. Their colors were great as well. They were nice and muted, which worked well for a winter session, but they still had great pops of color that were so fun! I love the black and white photos from this session too. Black and white photos look really great for winter engagement sessions when colors are a bit more muted.
At this session, the funniest thing happened, while we were at Garden of the Gods. It was a pretty busy day at the park and there were some other photo sessions going on. One of the sessions was a boudoir session, so there was a half naked woman and her photographer in the park in the middle of winter. I actually had to photoshop them out of a few of these photos!
