Kali and Jordan had a big year! Jordan proposed to Kali after he got back from Ranger school. Then, they moved from Georgia to Colorado Springs and had a Christian elopement at Garden of the Gods! What a year, right? These two were so much fun. They were giggling, smiling, and making goofy faces at each other all day long. They were super cute together. I am so glad they chose me to be their elopement photographer. It was so much fun to work with them. I have done dozens of elopements at Garden of the Gods too so I know all the best spots for first looks, ceremonies, and portraits. It’s also wonderful to know some Garden of the Gods elopement vendors as well. Helping my couples plan their perfect day is what I live for.
I really love their proposal story. Jordan really did his homework and planned everything out so well. Kali had been bugging him to get a pedicure after he returned from Ranger school because his feet were so torn up from months of hard work. He took that as the perfect opportunity to plan a special date night. First, they got their nails done, followed by sushi, and ending with a sunset view over the Chattahoochee River. When the sun started to set it looked like it was going to rain. Jordan started getting nervous that it wouldn’t be the perfect day after all. Kali reassured him it wasn’t a big deal and that they could go see the sunset another time. He insisted they go anyway.
Kali + Jordan’s Christian Elopement
When they got there, he walked her out to the river and gave her a whole speech about how much he loved her. Then he got down on one knee and a photographer popped out to capture the moment! Seriously, this guy is smart! He made sure his soon-to-be fiancée had her nails done and that there was a photographer there to capture the moment. Take note guys!
Their October elopement was just the two of them, their two witnesses, and their pastor, Chaplin McKinney. We did their first look in a little valley with some great fall color. Then, we headed up to what felt like the top of the world for their ceremony. There were amazing views of the red rocks as well as the Rocky Mountains. They recited the vows they had written for each other and their witnesses recited some readings. After their ceremony, I whisked them off and we took newlywed portraits all over the park as the sun set!
