Fall is the best season! Sweaters, pumpkin spice everything, Halloween, fall leaves, what’s not to love! For me, Fall is crazy, busy season but it’s still so beautiful and so much fun. Brilynn’s parents are big fans of the season so we themed their Fall newborn session around the colors and textures of late summer and early fall. We incorporated lots of deep purples and rich browns.
For this Colorado newborn session, I used a lot of digital backdrops. Digital backdrops are essentially photos that I photoshop newborns onto in order to create a scene that would otherwise be either dangerous, too expensive, or too time consuming. If I were to recreate these scenes in real life at my newborn sessions, I might be able to do one or two at each session, but with these digital backdrops, we can do 5-10 for each newborn I photograph. Isn’t technology amazing? See if you can spot which photos use digital backdrops in this blog post and which ones don’t.
Baby Brilynn’s Fall Newborn Session
I’ll give you one answer now. The makeup photo was not digital. Brilynn’s mom is a professional makeup artist! We had to work that into the session so we took a bunch of her equipment and set it up around Brilynn. I promise none of it was plugged in! We were super safe, as always. The wrap on her head brings it all together but what really makes the photo is her adorable smile! I guess this little one is going to love makeup as much as her mama!
After the makeup setup, we switched to a more floral and springy look. Then we brought out Brilynn’s bestie, her koala stuffie! They are so cute together! I love doing themed newborn sessions like these. I always ask my clients if they have any themes or sentimental items they want to incorporate. It keeps things so fun and makes every session unique!
