Weddings at Garden of the Gods Club – Laura & Jon

Jon planned and proposed on a beautiful sunny January day while hiking in Colorado Springs. He asked Laura to take a panoramic photo of him. As she was looking through the lens he dropped down on one knee and presented her with an engagement ring. Especially Laura was completely surprised and Jon surprised her again as he secretly invited their friends and family to join them for a dinner to celebrate the engagement.

The Wedding Day

The wedding ceremony was held at the reflection pool at the Garden of the Gods Club on a warm September day. Laura’s wedding gown was covered in lace, had capped sleeves, and a long satin bow tied in the back. Laura’s bridesmaids wore deep purple knee length dresses and carried a bright bouquet of flowers. Each bridesmaid received a charm bangle bracelet designed by Alex and Ani as a heartfelt gift from the bride. Laura also wore a Alex and Ani charm bracelet for her wedding.

After the ceremony, when it was time for pictures the rain was coming down. However, that didn’t stop these two lovebirds from spending a little time alone posing for photos. In addition, Garden of the Gods Club has a covered patio area that allowed us to photograph the bridal party completely dry lol.

Ballroom Reception

As you can imagine, Jon and Laura’s wedding was a classic style with small rustic elegant details. All of the reception tables were set with classic white linens and burlap table runners. I loved the center pieces with numerous flower vases set atop tree trunk cut outs of bright wild flowers. With attention to the theme the cake table had tree trunk cut outs for the cake platter and cupcake stands. The beautiful wedding cake was decorated with fresh flowers and there were specially made gluten free cupcakes. Guests danced the night away while The Tent Show Kings played big band style music. As well I’m fairly certain I saw a conga line form and a tunnel throughout the resort. What a night to remember!
