I have been participating in the Shoot and Share Contest for a few years now which is an online competition where anyone can vote. Mostly it’s other photographers but even you or your kiddos could go to the website and vote on 4 photos at a time. This year there were over 330,000 photos submitted across 159 countries! It’s quite interesting to submit my photos and seeing how far they go in the competition, but I also love voting myself on other amazing photos and seeing such incredible talent in my colleagues.
This year (as well as last year) I am so happy to see many of my photos make it to the Finalist Round, Top 10%, 20% and 30% . However, this competition just helps me to prep for the WPPI Print Photo Competition next year, where my photos are printed and judged by some of the best photographers in the wedding industry. This year I obviously couldn’t participate and go to WPPI because of my new baby and surgery, but I am already prepping for next years competition! Participating in contests and competitions such as these, helps me stay inspired, better my skills as an artist and be a part of an amazing community of photographers. I truly believe that we never stop learning and enhancing our craft to be an expert in my industry.
2017 Shoot and Share Contest
I wanted to share my top ranking photos this year and thank all my clients for trusting me to capture these extremely personal and intimate time of their lives. I am so incredibly passionate about my work, and thankful to be doing it as a career.
