I’ve been photographing Zeb and his parents for a few years now. I did Zeb’s newborn photos and I’ve been photographing him ever since. This winter, I got to meet his whole family! We did an extended family session to get Christmas photos of everyone together. I love that Zeb was so excited to see me! I’ve gotten to watch him grow up and which really helps him to trust me when I’m behind the camera. When I got to the house he was so excited to say hi and show me his Christmas presents.
Christmas Photos with the Whole Family
Our session happened just a few days after Christmas so everyone was still around and the decorations were still up. Plus, there was even some snow on the ground! I love that everyone brought their dogs too. Pets are an important part of the family and I love getting them in family portraits. The whole family wore flannel and red which was a great look for winter and Christmastime. It can be hard to coordinate outfits for an extended family but these guys looked really great together.
We did this session at the grandparents house, which was a great option for a winter session. We were able to use the beautiful, snowy outdoor space. When everyone started getting a little too chilly, we just popped inside the nice, bright house and got photos in there. This was especially important for little babies. There were beautiful, classic Christmas decorations inside, which made for a nice backdrop. Then, after we got the big family shot, two of the boys (the adult boys that is) ran back outside for an impromptu snowball fight! It was so much fun and I’m really glad I stuck around to capture it. Adult snowball fights with your brother and time spent with the whole family is what Christmas is all about!
