This Seawell Ballroom wedding was the party of the year! It was a beautiful modern wedding with a lavender theme, held at the DCPA (the Denver Center for Performing Arts). The Seawell Ballroom is one of Denver’s largest and classiest wedding venues. This event totally lived up to the space. There were amazing floral arrangements and table centerpieces. No detail was overlooked.
Love is Love
There has been a lot of buzz going around the wedding photography world with wedding websites and vendors refusing to work with same-sex weddings and LGBTQ+ couples. It is always so upsetting to see this happen in my industry and sometimes even in my state as well. I have always been supportive of the LGBTQ+ community and happy to serve my same-sex couples and weddings! I also love being able to work with other wedding industry professionals who are amazing allies as well.
These two put a little bit of a queer touch on their big day and it was so awesome. They had an amazing five-tier wedding cake decorated with all of Denver’s best landmarks, like Union Station, Coors Field, and the Rocky Mountains as well as one of the skyline buildings that they have their home in. When they cut into the cake, they revealed that the inside was a rainbow! The whole room went wild and it was such a fun surprise. They also had a candy bar that was rainbow cylinders of M&M’s.
Just before the sunset, we took them up to a rooftop and got some gorgeous newlywed portraits with the city and mountains in the background. I always encourage my couples to do this as well since it lets them get away from the crowd for a minute and have a quiet moment to celebrate their marriage.
