I have photographed several Jewish weddings but I think Haley & Will’s Jewish wedding takes the cake. First, their wedding venue, The Manor House in Littleton, Colorado, just had a huge renovation that revamped the historical wedding venue adding on a spectacular ballroom. It has a lovely bride’s suite for Haley and all of her bridesmaids to get ready. The bridesmaids wore mint colored wedding dresses and Haley had mint colored Toms for her shoes. But they haven’t forgotten about the groom and groomsmen! They get a pool table and poker table (and bar!) to entertain themselves before the wedding ceremony especially when the bride and groom won’t see each other until she walks down the aisle.
Jewish Wedding Traditions
To the Jewish people, tradition is everything. and before the ceremony of a Jewish wedding there is much to do! The chuppah had to be assembled, draped and adorned with beautiful lavender flowers. And the Rabbi went to both the bride and groom separately, and read from a custom made ketubah, a Jewish marriage contract, read in both Hebrew and English. Both parties sign the contract separately in front of their friends and family. A little rain storm came through and the wedding party had to take cover, watching the Broncos game while trying to decide if the ceremony should continue outside. Thankfully, Haley made the decision to keep it outside as there is a fantastic view of Downtown Denver and the fall colors with the mountains. And Will finally got to see his beautiful bride just as Haley always wanted.
After the ceremony, the storm left clouds colored with the pinks and purples of the sunset. Tall yellow fields were the perfect compliment to Haley in her ballgown and cathedral veil and Will in his black tux. And of course we had to get a shot of them in front of the historical columns of the Manor House.
The rest of the night didn’t disappoint either as Haley’s maid of honor and sister rapped her wedding toast speech. It was fantastic! A towering stand of cupcakes were delicious, just ask Will 😉 The party was non-stop with these guys all the way to the grand exit at the end of the night. Picture perfect!
