Any time I book a session, I work with my clients to find them the perfect location. I want to make sure they have the best session ever! I find out what they like, what they’re looking for in their photos, where they are located. Richard and Ashley are getting married in Indiana and they have already hired a wonderful local photographer to capture their wedding day. They still wanted photos of them in the beautiful Colorado mountains, so they booked me for engagement photos. They had a long list of what they wanted for their fall engagement session. Their list included mountains, water, and fall colors. It is hard to find one place that has all three of these. And of course, the fall leaves are changing constantly so everything has to be times perfectly.
On top of all of that, they really wanted to include their new puppy, Zoey, in the photos. That meant that in addition to a beautiful place, the location also had to be dog friendly. Believe it or not, there are a lot of mountain locations that don’t allow dogs. After doing a lot of research, I found them the prefect location! Twin Lakes offered everything they were looking for and the color was right at it’s peak for our session date. A lot of photography locations require permits and since this was a new location for me, I didn’t have one for Twin Lakes. Luckily, I was able to get a permit just in the nick of time! We got to have Ashley and Richard’s fall engagement session at the perfect spot, at the perfect time for fall colors, and include their fur baby!
Fall Engagement Session at Twin Lakes
On top of us hitting Twin Lakes at the best time of year, we also had a beautiful day for a couple’s session. Richard and Ashley got a clear, blue sky and a beautiful sunset. We also caught an amazing moonrise at the end of the session. It was totally unexpected and so cool! Zoey was such a cutie and I’m so glad we found a location where we could include her in the photos. I’ve been getting a lot of dogs at sessions lately and I absolutely love it!
