Crooked Willow Farms: Colorado Wedding Venue

Crooked Willow Farms: Colorado Wedding Venue

I love working and collaborating with vendors on inspired shoots, not only because it is a way for some of the most talented people in the industry to showcase the best of what they can do but break out past the cookie cutter, repetitive ideas recycled in wedding after wedding. I am always in awe of the high level of creativity and skill that each person brings and dedicates to their gorgeous contribution to the shoot.  This wedding shoot was coordinated by wedding planner extraordinare Brittany from Brittany & Co Events.  Really I can’t describe how remarkably stunning it all was (and really I’m not a writer, I’m a photographer!) so without further delay, feast your eyes on this gorgeous wedding shoot.

A winding, country road takes us to the grand entrance to our inspired shoot destination, Crooked Willow Farms. Lush, green pastures blanket the rolling hills speckled with regal horses. Small ponds on the property are frequented by families of geese and pairs of swans. Several buildings adorn the property each beautiful, unique and extraordinarily picturesque.  There is the grandiose carriage house ballroom showcasing white pine walls, stained concrete floors and huge sliding doors. Across from the ballroom is the second story Lola’s Loft, which features a hand-crafted turret entrance reminiscent of a castle tower as well as the beautiful original wood detailing and red oak floors. Settled between both buildings is an intimate, romantic courtyard with an array of Colorado wildflowers and tall, blooming fields of flowers. And Our shoot will be in the intimate and sophisticated Wine Room, which is beautifully laid out with rich mahogany tables and chairs, and wine barrels lining the entrance.

Inviting you to this shoot is Pier 9 Design, the designer providing our invites and placecards.  A beautiful equestrian, derby motif was created on the custom invites printed on a linen paper finish.

The shoot was inspired by crystal, silver and lace with the elegance and luxury of an equestrian event. Those stunning crystal candelabras were provided and designed by Southern Charm as well as the bouquet, boutonniere and floral jewelry worn by our beautiful model, Emily Smiley. Incorporated in the arrangements are hydrangea, roses, blooming jasmine, anemones (a crowd favorite at the shoot!) makara orchids, scabiosa, french lavender and blooming oregano. Added embellishment to the bouquet was a lace wrap and a beautiful brooch.

Emily’s makeup was perfectly applied by Tira from Make-up by Tira Rae using long lasting airbrush makeup and makeup products by MAC Cosmetics and hair was styled by Kayla Jaworski.  And that striking but romantic dress? It was provided by Blue Bridal of Castle Rock and can be yours retailing for $1,688! The gown was antique lace with an open back designed by Jim Hjelm Blush by Hayley Paige. The “Leila” headpiece designed by Bride’s Head Revisted can be bought as well at Blue Bridal for $300.

But for the most important day of your life don’t let your ensemble fall short of spectacular. Accessories are extremely necessary to compliment your look and make your groom’s jaw drop.  All of the pictured jewelry on the bride is from Luisa Graff’s Jewelers designer collection. The necklace is 14 KW and 1.09 ctw for $3,599, earrings are .25 ctw for $999, and that brilliant bracelet is 3 ctw of sparkling Diamonds for $8,999. The enchanting engagement band has 26 round brilliant cut diamonds for .48 ctw at $1,799 (not including the center stone). The matching wedding band adds 30 round brilliant cut diamonds adding .51 ctw also retailing for $1,799.

The feast of delicious food that encompasses the table, provided by Cravings Catering, to me is just not for eating but revered as art! It could decorate the table itself and is a feast for your eyes. The trays of h’orderves each have a different flavor and visual feature to entice each of your wedding guests. Even simple finger sandwiches add flare and flavor to every last bite.  The main course is the grand finale that is exceptionally savory and the fine platery and tableware provided by Event Rents which can fashion and provide just about anything for any occasion.

For dessert, instead of a candy table, a more elegant, tasty table of sweets and treats, including cake pops, a wide assortment of cookies and personalized treats perfectly prepared by Creative Chocolates by Karen.  The cake, created by Sugarplum Cake Shoppe was simple ornate, sophisticated lavender with pearl accents and edible cascade of flowers.

I want to thank everyone for their support and collaboration and very hard work and talent in this inspired shoot.
