Marc thought out his proposal to Emily very carefully and involved a few of their friends to help when it came time to pop the question. It was on an annual snowboarding trip in Steamboat Springs where he orchestrated the perfect setting on top of a snow covered mountain and an acorn tree. Marc got down on one knee and presented Emily with a ring as their friends stood back and took pictures marking the occasion. Emily fell over completely shocked and delighted and this begins the story of their wedding day!
Emily and Marc love the outdoors so they choose The Pines at Genesee in Golden for their wedding. It was actually a destination wedding for them as they live in Burbank, CA and I was fortunate enough to take their engagement photos in Santa Barbara on the beach (albeit during a record Hurricane strength storm!). The mountain ambiance was the perfect backdrop to say their I do’s. Emily looked simply gorgeous in her crystal embellished backless wedding gown and bouquet of yellow tulips. The bridesmaids looked cool and elegant in their cornflower blue dresses.
After the ceremony the bride and groom posed for romantic portraits in the glow of sunset and majestic mountain peaks near Chief Hosa.
The buffet style dinner was served indoors and catered by The Pines at Genesee and the wedding cake was made by Rachel Davis at Lucky’s Bakehouse.
Family and friends sent the couple off by ringing bells on sticks with ribbons.
Congratulations to Emily and Marc!
