Hatchet Ranch Wedding: The Brownfield’s

The Brownfield’s day was a western Hatchet Ranch Wedding.  Their love for each other is so strong and the love of their family and friends was felt throughout the whole day. Kristin and Jacob met in high school but they were friends for a while before becoming the couple they are today. Years after they had met, Jake finally asked Kristin out. I’d still call them high school sweethearts though because that’s when they met and they’re definitely sweethearts!

Jake proposed to Kristin at home, in front of their Christmas tree. He had prepared a whole book of reasons why he loves her, wrapped it and put it under the tree for her to open Christmas Day. He just couldn’t wait until Christmas though, so he asked her to open the present early and proposed just before the holiday. These two had a romantic engagement session at Mt. Falcon at the beginning of the year.

The Brownfield’s Day, a Hatchet Ranch Wedding

Kristin and Jacob wanted a classic, quirky, and fun wedding and they got just that! Their details were a perfect mix of traditional and rustic. Kristin wore a beautiful wedding gown and cowboy boots during the ceremony and they handed out boot bottle openers as their wedding favors. They had an intimate Hatchet Ranch wedding with 80 close family members and friends. There were a few hiccups in the day but it didn’t phase these two at all.  And you definitely can’t tell in these photos 🙂

Their goal for the day was to have a fun, relaxed wedding. They had fun games, lots of delicious food, and plenty of loved ones. After the ceremony and portraits they changed into more comfortable attire. Jake changed into a button down shirt and dark jeans and Kristin put on a more casual white dress.  Of course there are benefits and a few downsides to this as they were SUPER comfortable and exactly them but then a few of my most favorite photos of the night (like the rainbow that appeared later) they didn’t have their wedding outfits on for.  But regardless,  I’m sure they were able to enjoy their night even more in their different comfy wedding outfits.

We took some epic couples portraits when we caught a perfect rainbow on the ranch! Then, we took portraits as the sun set against the beautiful cloud-filled sky. Overall, it was a gorgeous wedding day. Congratulations to Kristin and Jake!
