Garden of the Gods Elopement

Sydney and JT are adventurous souls. These two love traveling and being outdoors, but their greatest adventure so far is starting their life together. They knew they wanted to get married but when it comes to weddings, there are just so many options! They had been to plenty of big weddings and heard stories of friends having weddings that just weren’t for them or were super stressful. So they decided to go in a different direction and have a small, intimate wedding instead. They had a trip planned to Colorado Springs in the fall and thought “why not get married there!” Sydney, JT, their officiant and I planned a stunning Garden of the Gods elopement, while they were in town. They left Colorado a happily married couple!

Garden of the Gods Elopement

All you need for an intimate elopement in Colorado an officiant and a photographer. Sydney and JT booked me and Calvin Wulf of A Bridal Blessing for their nuptials. Calvin and I have worked together at a couple other intimate weddings so it was the perfect pairing. The weather was a bit iffy, but we decided to have the wedding at High Point in Garden of the Gods anyway. And it was perfect! High Point is a stunning overlook, with views of the mountains and epic rock structures. In Colorado, you never quite know what you’re going to get, especially in the fall.

It was pretty foggy that day which unfortunately covered Pikes Peak but it didn’t disrupt the views of the red rocks and it really made the whole scene even more beautiful. Sydney wore a beautiful white dress and a flower hair piece. JT looked very dapper in his white button down and suspenders. After they exchanged rings and their first kiss, I took them around for some newlywed portraits!

That day, we got an extra special surprise. I am at Garden of the Gods all the time and I had never seen the bighorn sheep, but I saw a herd the day Sydney and JT got married. I actually consider the Big Horn Sheep my spirit animal as my father died as a BLM employee trying to save them. Seeing the Big Horn Sheep was definitely a sign of good luck! Congratulations to Sydney and JT. You are welcome back to Colorado any time!
