This couple is from San Francisco but flew here for their RiNo engagement session because Denver is where they had a bunch of dates before they got engaged. They are brewery people and definitely dog and cat people. My kind of people! We would have done the session with their fur babies but they had to stay in CA. They really wanted to have Crush Walls in the RiNo Arts District in the background of their photos. I wanted to take them to a bunch of different murals to get as much in as we could. We started at River North Brewery, where we got some moody engagement portraits in front of their brewing tanks. After enjoying a couple of beers, we then made our way around the neighborhood to some of my favorite murals.
RiNo Engagement Session
Before their session, Dana told me a cute story about their relationship. On one of their first dates, they went to a movie and watched a short film called The Blue Umbrella. It’s a Pixar short about a red umbrella and blue umbrella meeting each other in the crowds of black umbrellas. They then get separated but end up finding each other again. These two had done a long-distance relationship for a while so they really related to the story here. I wanted to make sure we did some photos that told the same story. We got a red umbrella and a blue one and I played with some flashed to get a few really cool shots. I couldn’t resist getting some rain photos with a clear umbrella too! Make sure to look through the photos below to see all the artist credits. They are all so talented.
