The recipe for a perfect day is different than a perfect wedding day. I can tell you that perfect wedding days are hard to find all the ingredients not to mention timing and final product. However, Todd & Kate’s wedding day at Crooked Willow Farms in Larkspur, CO managed to have it all. First, we had 2 loving souls, beautiful weather and amazing scenery. Kate told me the style of their dream day: romantic, timeless farm venue with accents from a rustic chic fairytale. In addition, out in the pasture and fields of Crooked Willow you will find extraordinary beauty to chose from as a backdrop. Such as a magnificent, grand red barn, lush green fields with white fences, a clear, rippling pond filled with snow white swans and baby ducklings. Literally there are so many views to chose from!
Crooked Willow Wedding Day
Next, the best in the business were there to construct a decadent lace and blush pink wedding. As a Crooked Willow wedding photographer and former bride here myself, I absolutely love photographing here for all the beauty it provides. As far as wedding venues goes, Crooked Willow weddings are pretty much perfect as the venue is, however, I love seeing how every couple personalizes as their own. The day was perfectly planned by Katie of Day Planner Events. I was surprised that she did it all in just 3 months! Of course most brides take the entire year to plan their day but sometimes you just can’t wait to spend the rest of your lives together.
Crooked Willow Wedding Ceremony
Kate’s vision was formal, black and blush so very feminine too. I thought all the details she had from her perfume, to her sparkly Jimmy Choos and even a wedding gift of cufflinks that were “legen” “dary” were perfect. In addition, I love that they had handwritten vows to each other, vows which they wrote themselves. In fact, Kate’s vows she wrote before they were even engaged. She just knew. Just as Todd knew on their first date, there was no way he could let this girl go.
The arbor was draped with sheer white fabric, crystals and a chandelier by Southern Charm Weddings & Events and the wooden walkway put together by rental company, Pink Monkey. As for the music, the ceremony and cocktail hour was provided by A Music +. Notably, the beautifully orchestrated ceremony was performed by the officiant, Dave Ruckman. Above all though, I can still remember the look and tears down Todd’s face and the strength in Kate’s voice reading her vows. As they both walked down the wooden aisle from the draped Crooked Willow wedding ceremony location, Todd surprise dipped his beautiful bride! By the way, wedding photographers love that lol.

Last, let me tell you about the reception. In Crooked Willow’s stunning ballroom adorned luxurious white lounge furniture, white draped fabric, and custom, textured up-lighting painting the walls. I’ll tell you no one but Pink Monkey can do such beautiful work. Likewise, I believe everything owner Cheri touches turns into a masterpiece. Blush pink roses with white hydrangea arrangements adorn tall glass centerpieces to decorate a table of golden chargers and twinkling candlelight created all by Southern Charm Weddings & Events. Chair Covers & Linens provided the lovely linens and rentals, stage, plates and flatware provided by Event Rents of Denver.
A rockin, talented as hell live band, Rockslide, was there to entertain the guests throughout the night. And talk about delicious, irresistible food! Tony Rosacci’s outdid themselves with the appetizers, entrees and oyster bar. The stunning, absolutely delectable cake was made and molded 🙂 by Icing & Sprinkles and it made my night! If you want a wedding day you will never forget, definitely have a Crooked Willow wedding.
