A Surprise Proposal
Surprise proposals, especially elaborate ones, are becoming as common as getting down on 1 knee for a proposal. Youtube videos, flash mobs and hundreds of family and friends in on the surprise. Chances are your lady has a secret desire for you to go the extra mile to ask the question of, “will you marry me?” However, this doesn’t mean you have to do what no man has done before! Well, at least you have to do what no man has done before for YOUR lady. One thing that she really hopes that you do is get a professional photographer to secretly capture the moment, the reaction, the emotion and the beginning of your story. There are plenty of ideas out there and engagement and wedding photographers like me have plenty of ideas to help you make this moment the best of her life.
Take Brandon here. He and Monica were visiting from out of state and he was looking to do a destination engagement. A surprise proposal, but where? How? He had never even been to the area. This is where I gave Brandon several beautiful options to ask his girlfriend the question. We decided on the breathtaking Garden of the Gods! I told him the best place for a fantastic view as well as the most private area. Garden of the Gods gets thousands of visitors a day and most women would prefer the more intimate location and privacy but of course there are plenty of options for an engagement with a cheering squad. 🙂
I instructed Brandon how to walk up, where to setup and where I would be. He came up with the “ploy” and of course the heartfelt words that she will remember and the story to tell in their marriage. And it went beautifully! Monica couldn’t have been happier and in the end they not only have wonderful memories of the beginning of their engagement but some beautiful photos of the two of them and an epic location.
