A romantic elopement

A few days back I photographed an elopement for for Megan and Richard. They decided to have a small and private ceremony at Green Mountain Falls Gazebo and shared their vows in front of their parents and siblings. It was especially special for Megan as she would spend summers with her parents in Green Mountain Falls at their cabin.  Their ceremony was simple, intimate and oh so sweet. The cherry blossoms were in bloom and made for romantic portraits after they said their “I Do’s.” Then, we did what most couples who just gets married would do, we went to The Blue Moose Tavern for drinks! The best part about elopements, is there are so many opportunities and time to get amazing portraits! After they tied the knot, we headed to their cabin for cake and cider/champagne.  Their two little wiener dogs were dressed up as well in wedding attire and of course Megan wanted a few pictures with her furbabies.  We ended our day with grand mountain views at Crystal Reservoir. These two are so comfortable with each other which made for romantic portraits.

I am a sucker for an amazing wedding! Sharing the day with all your friends and family. The food and cake. The music, dancing and the joy you feel that surrounds the couple is always magical. But elopements are just as joyful in a intimate and relaxed sort of way. A time when a bride and groom can truly focus on themselves and the love they share. Megan and Richard are both doctors and have busy schedules caring for others. An elopement was a perfect way for them to get married and spend quality time in each others arms. When many weddings can be about “what mom wants” or “mother in law wants” elopements are all about the couple. They are small, personal and you have more room in your budget for things that will last a lifetime (such as photography)!

As they saying goes; “First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes…” Well, we all know what’s next. Megan is 15 weeks pregnant and I am so excited for what the year holds for these two!
