Hannah and Rayne met at a bar. They already had mutual friends in common, through Hannah’s Acapella group and Rayne’s ROTC buddies, and their friends secretly planned for them to meet each other. Rayne already knew who Hannah was and had wanted to meet her for a while, but at the bar, it was Hannah who first approached Rayne. They hit it off right away, and fast forward to July 2017, they had a beautiful Mt. Princeton wedding complete with that handsome class A military uniform.
Last July 4th, Rayne had planned out his secret proposal to Hannah. He had invited both of their families to their 4th of July weekend. Then he took Hannah to her favorite place in Charleston, Magnolia Plantation, filled with beautiful willows, azalea, and bamboo. Their parents were “running late,” so they had a private moment together on a bridge in the bamboo forest. Rayne took that as the perfect opportunity to ask Hannah to marry him, and of course, she said “yes!” He had even planned to have a photographer hiding in the bushes to capture the moment. When they got back to the main house, their parents were waiting with a special banner.
Mt. Princeton Wedding Day – Buena Vista Colorado
Wedding days always have ups and downs and challenges. That’s what makes for the best stories, right? You can’t tell from the photos (the magic of photography!) but it was pouring rain while we did most of the portraits. Outdoor photos were really important to Hannah, so we made it happen! Of course because this Mt. Princeton wedding has an amazing view that needs to be seen. These guys were total troopers for smiling in the rain for so long. I had to make sure my camera didn’t get too wet so I had an assistant standing on a table behind me, holding an umbrella over me. I have the best photography team!
With the rain, we almost had to move the ceremony inside, but at the very last minute, the skies cleared and they were able to have beautiful ceremony outside. The ceremony was my favorite part of the whole day. Everyone was in the moment and crying during the ceremony. They had three generations of their families enjoying the wedding day and so emotionally present. It was such a beautiful sight.
Their wedding details were amazing as well. I loved all the florals they had. It felt like walking through botanic gardens. Everything was so lush and beautiful. They even had seed packets, that they made themselves, as their wedding favors! They ended the night with a sparkler exit that made for the perfect Mt. Princeton wedding sendoff.
