Justina and Will met after Justina got stood up on a date. Yup, Will was with his best friend and they all started hanging out after Justina realized her date was not going to show. The two have been inseparable ever since! Will proposed on Christmas Day of 2015. We did their engagement session in the summer, at Lake Dillon and it was pretty epic! There was a canoe involved and lots of gorgeous mountain shots. They had a stunning Crooked Willow Wedding this fall that I cannot wait to show you!
Crooked Willow Wedding with a Hanging Cake!
Will and Justina had almost two years to plan their dream wedding and they put that time to good use. They did not miss a thing! There are so many stunning elements to this wedding that were so unique and perfect for them. First of all, the bride and groom’s outfits were amazing! Will is a huge Texas Longhorns fan so he found a way to bring the Longhorns with him down the aisle. His dress shirt has the Longhorns logo printed all up and down the sleeves. Justina looked absolutely stunning in her lace gown. I love open back dresses and her sheer back dress with the buttons all the way up was so gorgeous on her.
Since this Crooked Willow wedding was in October, they made sure to incorporate fall into the theme of their day. Their centerpieces were white, bedazzled pumpkin flower pots. It was such a classy way of bringing pumpkins in without it being too Halloweeney. But, by far, the most incredible detail of all was the hanging chandelier cake! I had never seen anything like this before. Justina and Will had two wedding cakes. One for cutting and the other one for hanging from the ceiling! I don’t know how you would even be able to cut a cake that was suspended in the air! Both cakes were absolutely gorgeous.
An Emotional Wedding Day
But a wedding day is not about all the pretty stuff. Okay, maybe a little. But what’s really important are the people and the emotions of the day. And it was quite an emotional day as well! I am such a sucker for father-daughter first looks and Justina’s first look with her dad was priceless. He was so happy to see his baby become a bride. When we talk about all the important people at weddings, we can’t forget the dogs! Will and Justina had their three adorable pugs and the girls were all dressed up in gold dresses! At the ceremony, Justina surprised Will by skyping in his best friend, who was deployed overseas. At a lot of weddings, there are at least a few people who can’t make it and it is so wonderful when they’re able to attend virtually instead.
Will and Justina had their first dance after they walked into their reception, but they put their own spin on things. Justina wore a white baseball hat that said Bride and Will wore a pair of gold sunglasses. I love when my couples put their personalities into the traditional wedding events! Will’s parents both passed away so, in lieu of a mother-son dance, he had a special dance with his daughter and Justina had a dance with her son. This wedding was so gorgeous and the perfect representation of Justina and Will. Congrats, you two!
