Brittany and Clay had their engagement session at Garden of the Gods over the winter. I loved working with them from the beginning. They weren’t afraid to do a session in the cold and their outfits were spot on. I just knew their wedding was going to blow me away. And it totally did! They had an Old Colorado City wedding at The Loft Music Venue last month. The couple wanted to return to their old stomping grounds since they used to live in the area. They used to go to 2 Souths Wine Bar, which is right next to their wedding venue.
Clay and Brittany met while they were attending pharmacy school. Clay proposed on Christmas Day. After a long day of skiing in the mountains, they came home and Brittany was half asleep on the couch. Clay handed her an empty box, after having given her three “empty boxes” on Christmas Eve. He’s apparently quite the prankster. Brittany thought it was just another prank, and being half asleep, she wasn’t too amused. Then he pulled an engagement ring out of his pocket, and she woke right up and said yes!
Old Colorado City Wedding
Their wedding was so much fun. The day was the perfect combo of quirky, vintage, and traditional. It was a rainy day in downtown Colorado Springs, which made all the murals even more vibrant. We had lots of fun with umbrellas during their wedding party portraits and their couples photos! I loved walking around Old Colorado City to take their portraits. It was the perfect spot for their wedding, with all the murals, the ivory walls, and vintage details. The couple was really excited about the signature drinks that their bartender created special for their day. And Clay wore some pretty cool socks with the Mona Lisa on them!
Brittany and Clay are planning to take two honeymoons! Right after the wedding, they went to Holiday Island, Arkansas. They used to visit there a lot when they lived in the area. It was also there, that Clay first realized he was in love with Brittany. In October, they’re planning a bigger trip to either Europe or Australia for two weeks. Are you jealous yet? Because I am!
