I know I’ve been posting a lot of photos from my trip to Hawaii but it was just so amazing! I’m obsessed! I promise I’ll stop soon. Well, eventually! Anyway, in April, I traveled to Oahu to photograph a few destination portrait and newborn sessions. While I was there, I, of course, did a little sightseeing. I wanted to get some Hawaii landscape photography done to put on the walls of my house. They could use some updating if I’m being honest.
I literally traveled all over the island of Oahu, from Waikiki to the North Shore and the middle and East side of the island. I got so many different views. The island is so diverse, it’s crazy! I loved the beaches because they are such a departure from the Colorado landscape. There are also so many mountains that almost made me feel like I was right back home again. The cities themselves were also beautiful and the skies were just to die for!
I’m not a trained landscape photographer since my focus is on portraits, but I thought I’d give Hawaii landscape photography a chance. I wasn’t quite positioned well for sunrise or sunset really since, apparently, I miscalculated sunrise one morning. However, I was able to catch the city of Waikiki at sunset. I love the photo I captured from that view. The clouds, the sunset, the mountains, ocean, and city lights! Getting all of that into one gorgeous frame was so awesome! That one is definitely getting printed big! I was only in Hawaii for four days and that included three sessions, plus traveling back and forth. It was not long enough but was definitely thoroughly enjoyed. If you’ve been itching to travel somewhere tropical, just take a look at these landscapes and you’ll definitely be convinced to book your trip!
