Baby Juniper is a local celebrity! She was the winner of the Baby Cotton Bottoms contest, here in Colorado Springs! Baby Cotton Bottoms is a parenting and baby boutique in downtown Colorado Springs that specializes in cloth diapers, car seats, baby carriers, maternity and breastfeeding supplies. One of the prizes her and her parents got for winning the contest was a mini newborn session with me! I love partnering with local business and being involved in my community, and this was a great opportunity to do so.
With my mini newborn sessions, families still come into the studio for their sessions. We go through all the important photos just like in a full session, family portraits, portraits with just mom and just dad, and some posed newborn portraits. With mini sessions, it’s just a bit faster paced. It all depends on how the baby is doing and what will be the best use of our time. Some babies do best in mommy and daddy’s arms. Some do best swaddled and cozy in a basket. Baby Juniper was happiest in mom and dad’s arms so we focused on those photos for most of the session. I love the family portraits we got off the three of them!

Little Juniper had an interesting little quirk during our session. She would not stop peeing and pooping on her parents! It was so funny! I’m sure you’ve seen all those videos and blooper photos of peeing and pooping babies at newborn sessions. I swear, this was on a whole other level! Baby Juniper must have gone potty on her parents (and me!) at least four times in the hour they were in my studio. I’ve never seen so much pee in such a short time! Luckily we had plenty of outfits and substitutes for her and her parents so no one had to stay in gross clothes. And, no I am not sharing any blooper photos. No one needs blackmail material before they’re old enough to talk!
