Sarah and Johnny’s rustic barn wedding at Crooked Willow Farms was just what they imagined when they started dreaming about their wedding day. These two met in a bit of a round-a-bout way. Sarah had worked with Johnny’s sister, Ashley, while she was in high school but the two didn’t meet in high school. They didn’t meet until a few years later when they happened to run into each other at a mutual friend’s house. After they dated for a while, Johnny knew it was the real deal. He took Sarah on a trip to Europe and then proposed to her in front of the Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany. That’s the castle that the Disney Castle is based off of. Can you get more romantic than that? For their honeymoon, they did a “minimoon” at Flathead Lake in Montana to go camping, climbing, boating, and fishing. How sweet!
Rustic Barn Wedding at Crooked Willow Farms
Sarah described her dream wedding to me and I wanted to share her words with you because I think she got it totally right! “I envision my wedding day being romantic and fun! I chose the venue because it reminded me of a classy rustic setting. I always imagined I would marry Johnny by a barn in nature.” Their wedding day perfectly lived up to all of this!
They had their wedding at Crooked Willow Farms, with their outdoor ceremony against the mountain backdrop and their reception in Crooked Willow’s gorgeous main barn. The ceremony was beautiful and I’m so glad that these two waited until Sarah walked down the aisle to see each other because Johnny was moved to tears (Oh yes yes yes I love a crying groom – reminded me of my own wedding day). I also loved that Johnny and all the groomsmen wore cowboy hats! The only thing that didn’t go quite according to plan was that after their ceremony, a huge storm came in. The timing was perfect though! They still got their beautiful outdoor ceremony and by the time it started raining, everyone was already inside. I welcomed the rain because at Crooked Willow their courtyard will actually flood enough that it is like a little pond that reflects the beautiful setting and couple. It was perfect since the storm didn’t allow for a sunset. But I mean, come on, these photos are gorgeous and this is one of my favorite weddings.
