Flying Horse Wedding – Sarah + Dan

Sarah and Dan are such a cute and silly couple! I love how playful they are together and how much fun everyone had at their wedding. They had an amazing Flying Horse wedding in Larkspur, Colorado. Their colors were blush and white, which made the day feel very classic and elegant. Flying Horse Ranch is a beautifully rustic wedding venue with great indoor and outdoor spaces. They had their ceremony and reception indoors and we did all of their portraits outside. There were epic, open blue skies for their newlywed portraits and an amazing sunset! I was so excited to photograph them in the fields under the amazing skies.

Sarah used to work at the Pinery, before it moved from what is not the Wedgewood at Black Forest, so she was very tapped into the wedding vendor network. I think almost all of her vendors, except me, used to work with her at the Pinery. How awesome is that? I’m sure it made wedding planning much less stressful, plus she got to have all her old work friends as part of her day!

Flying Horse Wedding – Sarah + Dan

I was so excited for this wedding because I had a big surprise up my sleeve for the couple. At their engagement session, I learned that their first date was a Star Wars trivia night on May 4th, a couple of years ago. So, on their wedding day, I brought a Darth Vader helmet and a Storm Trooper helmet for them to wear! It was so perfect since their main wedding day colors were black and white. Little did I know their cake topper would have a Star Trek quote on it! It was an awesome nerdy, wedding day all around!

Dan and Sarah were really looking forward to their first look so they could have a moment to themselves before the ceremony. Once they saw the helmets, they knew they had to make them part of their first look! It was so much fun watching them turn around to see each other with their Star Wars gear on! Well, Sarah’s wasn’t quite on since it would have ruined her hair! At the end of the night, I took them back outside with their helmets (actually on this time) and we made some epic, smoky portraits with the help of the Photo Booth guy’s vape pen! Haha, the wedding industry is all about collaboration, right!?
