Dan and Sarah first met on an online dating site but it wasn’t until a mutual friend of theirs wouldn’t stop pestering them, that they finally went out. Their first date was on May 4th, 2017 at a Star Wars themed trivia night. It’s so awesome when couples have things in common like that. I also love how silly these two are together. I was cracking up just reading their responses to the wedding questionnaire I send out! They clearly have so much fun together and the way they look at each other just melts my heart! And this spring engagement session in May had the perfect combination of weather, views and people.
Spring Engagement Session in Garden of the Gods
When we started planning Sarah and Dan’s spring engagement session, they originally wanted it in Rocky Mountain National Park. Dan, Sarah, and I all live in Colorado Springs, so heading up north for their photos was a nice change of pace. When the day of their session came, the weather wasn’t looking too great. Driving up the Rocky Mountain National Park suddenly didn’t seem like a great idea. At the last minute, I suggested we go to Garden of the Gods instead. This state has so many incredible parks and other natural places to offer. You really can’t go wrong, even if you “settle” for your second choice.
Sarah and Dan had their wedding just a few weeks after this session, so it wasn’t long before I saw them again. They had actually gotten married on paper a while before this, but Sarah wanted a real wedding. So in lieu of a romantic proposal, after their legal marriage, Dan bought the ring and they started planning their wedding day. For their honeymoon, Dan said he’s saving up to send Sarah to Mars on the Space X mission. Lol! I love funny and laid back couples like these two!
