Hearth House Wedding – Anna + Matt

The Hearth House in Monument is a brand new wedding venue and I am so excited about it and not just because it’s 6 minutes from my house! It’s a modern venue with a bit of a rustic edge to it. And the best part? The best part is that it’s an awesome new wedding venue in the heart of Monument, Colorado. The location is just an added bonus for me! It’s also super close to Monument Lake, which is a great location of newlywed portraits, bridal party portraits, or a first look. It started raining right after we got there for Anna and Matt’s portraits but we still got a few great shots before heading back to their Hearth House wedding reception.

Matt and Anna met in high school, during gym class. They started dating and when Matt decided to propose, he took her back to the place where he first asked her on a date. Their honeymoon will be in Scottland! Also, I think Anna is a total doppelganger for Kat Dennings. Don’t you? Enough that I could probably get money from a celebrity magazine for her photos? lol jk.

Hearth House Wedding – Anna + Matt

Hearth House has a great little outdoor space for ceremonies with amazing views of the mountains. Anna and Matt had a gorgeous ceremony there. They did a special unity ceremony with a mini bourbon barrel and they poured into it liquid to age for their anniversaries. It had their last name on it and the year of their wedding. I thought that was just the coolest idea. At their reception, they also had a whiskey barrel lid for all the guests to sign.

I always love taking my wedding couples out after dark for some bonus newlywed portraits. I had a lot of fun with Matt and Anna. First, we took some moody portraits, under the streetlights. Then we went for a hot, romantic look by the fire pit. To finish the night I played around with my lights and got a really shot of them through the wrought iron fence that surrounds the venue. It was a great way to end an amazing wedding night! Congrats Anna and Matt!
