Shayla and Matt’s Brittany Hill wedding was modern, chic, and beautiful. Their ceremony was so romantic and full of emotion. Shayla beamed as she walked down the aisle and Matt just melted when he saw her. Even though he’s not much for being at the center of attention, he wrote her the sweetest personal vows. He got choked up reading them and I’m so glad I captured Shayla’s reaction because she was crying listening to them. It was such a sweet ceremony.

The room was packed full of people with no aisle on the sides for me to sneak around to get different angles. But I will always find a way to get the shot! I made sure that the door to the side of the wedding party was cracked open so I could go around and capture Shayla’s face during the ceremony. I am so glad I got these shots. You can see her bridesmaids in the background and Matt in the foreground and you can feel all the emotions by just looking at her face.

Like I said, Matt doesn’t love being the center of attention, which means he doesn’t love having his photo taken. In fact, he hates it! Wedding photos were really important to Shayla though. Hey, relationships are all about compromise right? My team and I made sure to keep them both happy by making portrait time as short and painless as possible. I always try to get a win for both partners even if they want different things!

I was a little nervous getting ready for this wedding because Matt and Shayla hadn’t filled out my pre-wedding questionnaire or sent me a timeline. You guys! Wedding planning is stressful! I totally get it. There is so much to do and sometimes, things just get forgotten or fall to the wayside. So instead of bugging them about it, I called the venue to get the timeline and work out any details I needed. I know my couples have a lot on their plates and my job is to make wedding planning easier, not harder! Shayla was so grateful I did this because it meant she could focus on planning and enjoying her wedding!
