Lani and Sam had their Golden Gate Canyon engagement session at the peak of the fall leaves season. We had absolutely perfect timing with this session. The aspen trees looked amazing and made the whole mountain seem like it was on fire! (Don’t worry, it wasn’t though!) And the day we took these photos was absolutely beautiful. The sun was shining and we had clear blue skies.
We chose to have this session at Golden Gate Canyon State Park because it is one of the beautiful fall locations that allow dogs. If you want to bring your dog to your session, this is a great thing to tell me before we start looking for locations. I know which locations are dog friendly and which aren’t so we can narrow down our options right away! Sam and Lani were set on having Mollie, their chocolate lab, in the photos. I love including fur babies into photo sessions. Dogs are the best kind of people, right!? Mollie was so well behaved. They even brought a flower collar for her that was so cute!

These two brought some amazing outfits too. They are so cute and well coordinated, don’t you think? We had time for three outfits and I love all of them. Lani’s dress at the end of the session was absolutely my favorite though! I love the way the color of the aspens go with the dress. As we finished the session and I was leaving. I saw a moose on the hillside and he crossed in front of my car. Too bad it was after we had parted and I already had my camera away. That is just one of the perks of mountain engagement sessions though! You never know who you’re going to run into in the parking lot.
