This couple was so sweet. They wanted to have their engagement session in the same place where they got engaged a few months earlier. They had spent the whole day here, in Aspen after he proposed so it was a special spot for them. I mean, just look at it and you’ll see why. Their Aspen fall engagement session was stunning. It was in October so a lot of the leaves were already gone but once we went up to the tree line, it just exploded with color. And the field near the lake had some gorgeous color with the golden light streaming through. It really was breathtaking just to be there! We started the session up at the tree line to get the Aspen trees at their peak. Then, we went down to Twin Lakes, by the log cabin for the rest of the session. With the lake in the foreground and mountains in the background, it was the perfect location.
Aspen Fall Engagement Session
I love when couples choose a location that has special meaning to them. I think it really makes the photos that much more beautiful and important. And engagement sessions are important! It is your chance to announce your exciting news to everyone and to celebrate this point in your relationship. Most of my couples have never had professional portraits together so this is their first couple’s session. Wedding photos are amazing but do you really want all of your greatest photos together to be in a white dress and tuxedo? Engagement photos are your chance to celebrate who you are! It is a more casual, everyday expression of your relationship. Plus, you might not be able to include your dog in all your wedding photos. I love that these two brought their pup along too. Dogs make everything better, right?
