Winter wedding photography really is such a treat. It is such a beautiful time of year, especially in the gorgeous Rocky Mountains. I think a lot of couples shy away from planning a winter wedding, but they are really fun and beautiful. Lauren and Scott’s wedding was no exception! There was a crazy snowstorm the night before their wedding day, but in the morning, the sky cleared and the sun came out. This season seems to be a snowy one because I’m still recovering from about 9 inches of snow in my own yard.
Their whole day was gorgeous. It was freezing but they had blue skies all day and perfect fresh snow. If you are planning a winter wedding just make sure you have back up plans in place. These two had to rearrange where their ceremony would be because of the snow but their venue and planner made it a breeze. You just have to roll with it on your wedding day. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a wedding where everything went perfectly, but that’s what makes each day so unique and memorable.
Lauren + Scott’s Spruce Mountain Ranch Wedding
I swear Lauren looks exactly like one of my other brides, Kelsey. Don’t you think so? Probably not separated at birth though because she has 2 amazing sisters that look just like her. Scott and Lauren are really a perfect match though. Scott and Lauren met on Tinder and their first date, at an oceanside bar and grill lasted 5 hours! They then had their first three dates within a week. They just couldn’t keep away from each other! Scott proposed with they were on a weekend getaway in the Florida Springs. The trip did not go according to plan, they had a horrible Air BnB, but Scott figured it was as good a time as any. Lauren just kept asking Is this really happening?” over and over again and Scott said he was blacked out for the whole thing. Haha!
I thought it was so awesome that these two people from sunny, coastal cities wanted to get married in the mountains in the middle of winter! Their families are really important to them so Lauren had her sister’s as her bridesmaids and Scott had his cousin’s as his groomsmen. I love that their family got to play such a big role in their special day.
