You guys, some weddings are just extra special for me. This Younger Ranch wedding was that of no other than my amazing assistant Jordan! If you’re a past client of mine, you’ll probably remember her running around you with lights and holding your drinks while we do newlywed portraits. Well, this was finally her day to celebrate. It was so special to me that Jordan and her groom Steven chose me to be their wedding photographer. I really wanted to get everything perfect with this one. Luckily, Jordan knows me so she trusted me with her wedding day photos. That trust always makes the couple’s portraits easier and more relaxed. I think Steven, however, was like “does she ever stop taking photos?” and may have been slightly less enthusiastic about all the couple’s portraits. Lol!
Jordan did a special first look with her dad. I love it when brides do this. It is such a special moment and the dads usually cry happy tears! She also got ready with her mom, which was so sweet. It was a great way to have some time with each of them before the ceremony. Meanwhile, Steven was getting ready in the tepee that Younger Ranch has, which was so cool! Jordan’s son Jamison also had a special part in the wedding. He got to be the ring bearer and he was so cute walking down the aisle! He was pretty tired by the reception but I made sure to get some photos of the three of them together. I always make sure to get family photos when the bride or groom has kids.
Younger Ranch Wedding – Jordan and Steven
Steven and Jordan had a country themed wedding. Younger Ranch was the perfect venue for them with the big red barn and all the rustic chic details. All the girls wore cowboy boots and Jordan had a huge wildflower bouquet. It was gorgeous! Their ceremony was on the top of a hill, overlooking the valley and mountains. It made for the most beautiful views with big blue skies.
When we went out for sunset photos, it was just a few golden rays of light at first. But the sunset lasted so long and eventually it looked like they set the sky on fire with a match just to watch it burn. It was pretty epic. Later, while we were doing nighttime portraits, we got a harvest moon which was crazy and totally took me by surprise. I love how the big, orange moon matched Steven’s boutonniere. Jordan and Steven ended the night with a colorful ribbon exit.
