It’s not often I get up to Boulder, but it has so many amazing locations to offer! For Megan and Scott’s Boulder engagement session, I took them to Chautauqua Park to get the mountain views as well as another spot in Boulder. I love getting a mix of mountain and more urban photos at my engagement sessions.
We started the session off with some fall photos. It might not look like it, but it was actually freezing cold. It was literally the day after a big cold snap and snow early in the fall so all the trees just stooped turning and died. Which meant we only had green and brown surrounding us. Luckily, I worked some off camera flash magic and made the fall colors come to us! We found a gorgeous bridge over a little lake and it was just the perfect spot for these two. Aren’t they just the cutest!?
Boulder Engagement Session – Megan + Scott
Next, we went to Chautauqua Park for some mountain photos. As I said, it had just snowed so the Flatirons looked absolutely incredible. I swear the best photos of the Flatirons come right after the first snowfall of the year. Chautauqua Park is the best spot for Flatiron photos and it is really accessible too. It’s so close to downtown Boulder and it’s super easy to hike around to all the great photo spots. The main part is pretty flat, so my brides even do sessions there in heels.
We took a bunch of photos on the field with the mountains behind us and then we hiked up a bit to get a new perspective. The evening ended with a beautiful twilight and I made sure not to miss out on a perfect silhouette opportunity! Scott and Megan really are the sweetest couple. Neither of them could stop smiling the whole time we were together. It was the cutest thing ever!
