Nolan’s family have been clients of mine from the beginning. I photographed their wedding and then Nolan’s newborn photos last year. They booked a six-month milestone session before the pandemic started but we had to wait until Denver went to safer-at-home first. That meant that Nolan’s six month Denver baby photography session was actually when he was seven months. Whoops!
This has been happening a lot these days. I’ve been photographing two-month-old “newborn” sessions and older milestone sessions since Colorado started opening up again. It’s just one of the compromises we had to make to keep each other safe. This family wanted to have some fun with it so we had a cute little sign that said “Nolan is (6) 7 Months Old #COVID19.” I love that they wanted to embrace and make it part of the session. This little one is going to grow up with the craziest quarantine stories!
Denver Baby Photography – Nolan
We also did a photo of Nolan wearing the cutest little cow mask, just for fun. Made by grandma. Kids under the age of two don’t actually have to wear masks but this one was so adorable, we couldn’t resist. And since I and his parents were wearing masks the whole time, it wasn’t an issue that he wasn’t for most of the session. We took all the precautions we needed to, in order to make sure the session was safe. You can read more about the precautions I’m taking in my business here.
One of the challenges I’ve been facing with Denver baby photography in the COVID-19 era is that it can be harder for kids to connect with me while I’m wearing a mask. I try and wear cute, fun masks to make this easier. Luckily, Nolan didn’t have a problem with my mask at all. He was a silly happy baby throughout the whole session. I think these little ones are pretty used to seeing everyone wear masks at this point. They’ve basically grown up with it!
