Every year has wedding dates that are particularly popular. Last year, it was 10/10 and I photographed two elopements on the same day, which is not something I normally do. October 10th, 2020 was so popular though, so I made it work. I must have seen at least 100 other couples at Garden of the Gods that day, in just a 4 hour period! This wedding season is already going to be packed, with all the couples rescheduling from 2020. On top of that, there are a lot of 2021 popular wedding dates! Some have numerical significance, like 10/10 last year. Others are around the holidays and some are based around astrological or cultural events.
2021 Popular Wedding Dates
A lot of these dates are popular every year, like New Year’s Eve, Valentine’s Day, and Halloween, all of which fall on Fridays or weekends this year. Who wouldn’t want to get married on the day of love!? Repeating number dates are also popular year after year. This year, there are quite a few that fall on weekends too! 4/4, 6/6, 8/8, 10/10, 12/12 all fall on Saturdays or Sundays. December 12th will be extra special this year because the full date, 12/12/21, is all 1’s and 2’s. 12/11/21 is a palindrome date and a Saturday so it’s going to be a very popular 2021 date too!
This year has a few cool astronomical events this year too! There are three supermoons on April 27th, May 26th, and June 24th. There is also a blue moon on August 22nd and a full lunar eclipse on November 19th. On July 16th, Venus and Mars will be in conjunction, and since both planets are symbols of romance and passion, it should be a very love-filled date!
It can be really fun to get married on one of these dates but the more popular the date, the more difficult you might run into. 2021 popular wedding dates can be harder to find venues and vendors for as you compete with other couples. Your guests might have to choose between attending your wedding or another friend or family member’s. Even if you chose to elope, it may be more difficult to find an empty location or get the privacy you want. If you do choose a popular wedding date, be sure to plan well ahead by booking vendors soon and sending out invites early.
