Deer Creek Valley Ranch Homestead Wedding

Colorado’s weather has definitely been different from the norm this year. Usually come summer in Colorado, we’re stressing about wildfires and wildflowers. This year though, the amount of rain has been tenfold and going on for the entire day. In 15 years, I cannot remember a year where more sessions and accommodations had to be made for weather related issues. Surprisingly, for a June Evergreen/Pine Wedding, we had some very cold, rainy weather to contend with. Regardless, this June Deer Creek Valley Ranch Homestead wedding was still beautiful with lovely wildflowers and picturesque backgrounds.

Of course, this ranch wedding venue is large enough to have enough property for 2 separate weddings a day. I’ve had the privilege of photographing at the main, original venue which will take your breath away in the fall. The Homestead at Deer Creek Valley Ranch is the newer addition venue and has a rock and forest ceremony location and vibes. In addition, an outdoor lit patio and fireplace as well as indoor reception area. When Lucy and Cameron booked the venue though, outdoor views and vibes is what they planned. Always amazing views, the weather lacked warmth on their day and had rain all day in the forecast. Absolutely, it was 10am to 10pm. Obviously, a forecast that made even this seasoned photographer sweat (regardless of cold). Somehow, my stored karma kicked in and spared the day (mostly) of rain until the reception. And luckily for guests, I had several blankets in my car for them to borrow until I left.

We can’t wait to return to Deer Creek Valley Ranch, for its beauty and great experience. In all seasons, especially fall and summer.
