Our animals, especially our dogs, are a huge part of our daily lives. It’s no wonder I see more furbabies each year at weddings. Even India and Adam’s Broadmoor Jewish wedding had their darling CUPCAKE. Of course CUPCAKE wasn’t the only animal in attendance. There was also a beautiful horse drawn carriage by Kiowa Creek that carried the couple around the Broadmoor’s lake. I was pleasantly surprised that the Broadmoor allowed it! Most little kids already think brides look the princess part but it’s really impressive with these black beauties.

This Broadmoor Jewish wedding incorporated the Tisch and Bedeken where the bride and groom celebrate separately with their families before the ceremony. Family members from both sides joined the ladies and gentleman to enjoy drinks and cigars while telling stories of the couple and their love. Of course CUPCAKE was there as well. During the Broadmoor Jewish wedding ceremony she was the bridesmaid standing at the chuppah and watching India and Adam sign the ketubah. Now probably not for the ketubah but for a marriage license, did you know your doggo can witness the document? Yes! In Colorado, anyone even man’s best friend, can witness the document because we are a self-solemnizing state, meaning you can marry yourself.

Dogs at Weddings: What to do?

Pro tip though, for receptions though usually it is best if “man’s best friend” retires for the night from the festivities as overstimulation and loud noises can stress them out. See if a family member would like dog duty or hire a professional. For this Jewish wedding reception at the Broadmoor, cupcake had dinner, skipped the cupcakes and dancing, for a quiet evening sleeping. The next day the 3 of you can start your new life as a family together.
