Raccoon Creek Wedding Day – lovely, rainy wedding day

Erin & Jonathan’s wedding day started getting ready at a nearby hotel, writing their vows, adorning their military dress and wedding dress.  It’s a common belief that rain on a wedding day is good luck and Jonathan & Erin’s wedding day had a flood of good luck right before the wedding.  Their beautiful ceremony Raccoon Creek wedding day was set for a lovely outdoor scenic view in Denver.  However, the ceremony couldn’t happen outside as it was far too wet and had been raining for 3 hours straight.  It didn’t stop Erin from slipping into her white Galina dress with a teal sash and simple white wedge shoes.  Jonathan stepped out in his military dress uniform to sweep his bride off her feet.

Thankfully, even though Mother Nature had other plans than the scenic golf course view, Raccoon Creek has several buildings available for just such this occasion.  We were even able to do a “first look, no look” with Erin & Jonathan getting to talk and enjoy the the last single moments before their ceremony.  Even with the rain, we got these beautiful photos before the ceremony and of the very emotional and beautiful vows.

As you look through their photos walking out on the beautiful golf course grounds, look closely.  I bet you can’t tell that in most of those photos Jonathan was holding a clear umbrella. With careful posing I was able to keep both of them dry (relatively) and still get some lovely outdoor photos with the small lake and big, beautiful trees.

I've been a Colorado wedding and portrait photographer since 2006 in the days of photography yore. Every client is family to me and I love to grow and document each and everyone's most emotional moments and bundles of joy whether they be human or furbaby. It's very much the happiest days of a person's life and I feel purpose while documenting those moments.
