Cheyenne Mountain Resort – Colorado Springs Wedding Day

August 17th was the perfect day.  All the flowers were in bloom.  A view of the green hills and the peaked, blue mountains.  The sunny, blindingly bright landscape was nestled at the base of the mountains of Colorado Springs at Cheyenne Mountain Resort.  Mollie was calm and reflective which is wonderful on your wedding day so that you can remember every detail and moment as it comes and cherish it for years to come.  Hair and Make-up was done by Janine Novarro of Muah by J.  Once it was time to get ready, Mollie had two wonderful bridesmaids to help her slip into her beautiful fit and flare satin gown with a lace up corset back (d’Anelli Bridal).  Meanwhile, Eric and his two brothers were waiting for the festivities to begin in another room, Eric anxious to see his bride for the first time that day.

Bride and Groom First Look

Once ready, it was time for the first look.  We found a quiet little corner for Eric to wait with strict instructions to not turn or look for any reason.  Mollie walked up behind Eric to give him her gift.  From his beautiful bride, he received custom cufflinks to compliment his suit (Men’s Wearhouse).  He loved them, although Eric was more excited to see Mollie than anything.  After the first look, we got some wonderful shots of the bridal party and family photos.  It was wonderful that so many of Eric’s family could come all the way from Kenya for such a special event and occasion.

And then the ceremony, which over looked the mountains and entire resort.  The rows were lined with beautiful arrangements of succulents and purple sprigs as well as accents of yellow balls, I think called Craspedia billy balls but you would have to ask the floral designer Cheri from Southern Charm Wedding and Events as she is the expert and she did a gorgeous job on the beautiful table arrangements, aisle decor and bouquets.

And these photos…well words cannot really describe the photos of Eric and Mollie.  Lost in love, amazingly stunning landscape with a mountain backdrop along the lake.  Intimate and evocative.

Cheyenne Mountain Wedding Reception

The reception held at Cheyenne Mountain Resort was lit with purple and pink up-lighting and accented with silver table linens.  The food was excellently prepared as well as displayed to look like works of art.  The salad was served in martini glasses and was as beautiful to see as delicious to eat.  The couple also had a live tree they brought to the reception for guests to attach wedding wishes to and ultimately that tree will be planted in the Waldo Canyon burn area with a family that lost their home.

Then lastly the reception was rocked by a live band, “The Moses Jones Band.”  The bands brand of live talented musicians (saxophone, trumpet and all) in addition to live songbirds kept all the guests out of their seats and on the dance floor.  They made me a believer in having a live band in order to have a true party for your wedding.
