This winter engagement session was such a fun adventure! Thomas and Nina were such a joy to photograph and were perfectly happy running around through all the snow up in the mountains. We did their engagement session at Lake Dillion, which is just off I-70 and nestled in the Rockies. It was still winter so the whole lake was completely frozen over. I actually had trouble finding my way down because the park benches I was looking for were covered completely by snow. It was so cool to see everything taken over by winter like that!
Lake Dillon Winter Engagement Session
Lake Dillon was the perfect spot for this amazing couple. It’s stunning all year long but the winter really gives it a special feel. You get everything that Colorado is known for in one. The evergreen forests, the glistening alpine lake, and of course, the gorgeous Rocky Mountains! Even though we didn’t get the glistening lake this time, that expanse of ice and snow was really breathtaking. And Lake Dillon isn’t even hard to get to! It’s really close to 1-70 and there’s no need to hike (unless you’re trying to wade through feet of snow. Lol). It’s a great engagement session location for all kinds of couples who are looking for a classic mountain session.
This session was seriously so much fun! Nina and Thomas brought their two fur babies to their session with them. They are the sweetest pups and they just loved being close to mom and dad. They even helped us announce their wedding date. I love when my couples bring cute trinkets and custom made sings like these! Thomas and Nina will be getting married in the Fall of 2020, at Mountain View Ranch, which is seriously such a beautiful venue. During their winter engagement session, there was even a snowball fight and champagne pop celebration. Sorry though, those photos are private!
