When I met Emily and Jake, I immediately knew I had to be their Santa Barbara engagement photographer. They were so sweet and I loved the chemistry between them. Emily was originally from California and so am I. When I asked her where in California she was from, she reluctantly told me Lompoc because no one knows where it is… except for me. Lol! I went to UC – Santa Barbara and Lompoc, CA is just half an hour away. It is also where the only Walmart that a poor college student in Santa Barbara can go. Haha! It was so much fun reminiscing about old times and our hometowns.
Santa Barbara Engagement Photographer – Jake and Emily
For her and Jake, Fess Parker Winery has a special meaning to them. They are even members. I didn’t even know you could be a member of a winery! I definitely have to look into that back in Colorado Springs! Fess Parker was SUPER GRACIOUS and gave permission for us to do a Santa Barbara engagement session there. We also decided to go to a few other areas that didn’t require permits, which is hard to find in California.
We went to the Nojoqui Falls area, but unfortunately, the falls were too unstable to go near. Luckily, the scenery around there was great. Lastly, we ended at sunset at Douglas Family Preserve with a cliff view of the beach. There lots of amazing and huge plants like the Bougainvillea shrub and a huge cactus! It was so cool to see! The scenery in California is so different from Colorado and I had a blast playing around with all the new to me locations. Colorado is stunning but sometimes, it’s really great to do something completely different. This session really got my creative juices flowing!
