I have been working with this wonderful family for five years now! I photographed their engagement and wedding photos. Then, I photographed their firstborn’s newborn portraits. Now that he is a toddler with a newborn baby sister, I get to work with them again! I was so happy to see this family again and to meet Baby Collette. She is just the sweetest little girl. We included a bunch of cute bloopers in this session too. My favorite is the one with Collette sticking her tongue out at me!

Her older brother, Reed, is in his “terrible twos” phase so we had our hands full at this session. He’s not terrible of course but he had so much energy, it was hard to get him to slow down long enough to pose for photos. On top of that, he’s not super interested in his baby sister yet. I’m sure that’ll change once she’s old enough to play with him though! But, you know I always have tricks up my sleeve for situations like this. We used lots of bribes in the form of fruit snacks to get toddler and newborn photos together. Then, I photoshopped them out later. So it looks like he’s giving his sister a big kiss instead of eating a snack off of her head. Lol! Oh, the things we do to negotiate with toddlers.
Unfortunately, we did not have the same luck with the family dog. Some dogs can be unpredictable to it’s safest not to include them. Collette’s dad has a K-9 partner, Recon, but he was a bit too aggressive and energetic to safely be a part of this session. We were able to include dad’s profession in another way though! They found the cutest bow with the thin blue line on it. Collette looks so sweet and relaxed with it on.
