This couple’s number one priority for their wedding day was to be surrounded by loved ones. Scott and Megan were set on having a family-filled wedding day in a place that represented both of their childhoods. Megan grew up on a farm and Scott grew up in the mountains so they felt that Spruce Mountain Ranch was the perfect intersection of their lives. They also loved that the venue had so much built-in beauty that it didn’t need a lot of embellishments. I’ve heard that a lot about this venue and I really think it’s what makes this place so wonderful and unique. I know the venue well, besides photographing there many times, I live about 10 minutes away from it.
Megan and Scott’s wedding was originally set for May but with the pandemic and the shutdown of events, they had to figure out a new plan. When venues started reopening, they considered having two weddings on the same day so they could stay within compacity limits but still have all of their loved ones with them. In the end, they decided to postpone until late September. Luckily, everything was fully reopened in Larkspur so they didn’t have to cut down their guest list. Including everyone in their day was so important to them and I’m so glad everything worked out.
Megan and Scott’s Family Filled Wedding
Even though it was September, it was a cold, cloudy day. Their outdoor ceremony had to be moved inside and we didn’t get any sunset photos because of all the clouds. Instead, we went out when there was a break in the clouds for newlywed portraits. We took some fun nighttime portraits too. I love playing with my lights to create these artistic memories! This wedding had so many beautiful details. Megan and Scott thought of everything and they put so much love into making their day perfect. There were so many personalized items, from the wedding favors to the signs to the groom’s monogrammed socks. Even though the day wasn’t what they originally had planned, it was absolutely perfect!
