Awaiting Baby Powers
As I write this, Haley and Will are still awaiting baby Powers’ arrival. We’re a week past due date and he has not come yet. I’m sure they are so anxious to meet their little boy. Pregnancy always feels like it lasts forever, especially when you’re past your due date. By the time this post gets published, hopefully, he’ll be here! Either way, keep an eye out for some amazing newborn photos coming soon!
Have I ever mentioned how much I love watching families grow? Since I photograph both weddings and babies, I really get to be a part of some of life’s most important events. I get to watch two people join together and then I get to watch them grow their family and see their kids grow up. It is such an amazing thing to be a part of! I first met these two in 2015. I was there to capture their amazing wedding day. Then, for their first wedding anniversary, we did a fall couples portrait session. When they found out they were pregnant, they had a gender reveal session, which was so much fun! And today, I get to share with you, their gorgeous maternity session!
Haley and Will Powers had their maternity session at Crystal Creek Reservoir, outside Colorado Springs. It’s a stunning location that offers the perfect combo of mountains and crystal clear water. I’ve been getting a ton of requests from clients who want both mountains and water in their photos, and this is one of the many options I give. The only downside to this location is that they close the gates at night, which means we cannot do sunrise or sunset photos. We still had an amazing afternoon session with some wonderful light. I love how the water perfectly reflected the mountains in the background! I can’t wait to meet baby Powers!
