Places to Elope: Garden of the Gods
On this edition of Places to Elope: Garden of the Gods! I have done a ton of elopements here, so it seemed fitting to make a whole post about it. This is by far one of my favorite places to photograph. It is also a really great spot to elope for many reasons. Couples come from all over the world to have their elopements here at this gorgeous location. I’ve had couples get married here from Texas, Florida, and even Korea.
I photograph at GoG all the time, so I know all the best spots. For all my elopements, I also help my couples through the permit process, as well as planning and vendor recommendations. A lot of common elopement locations have implemented restrictions right now but not GoG. The park is currently open to the public and still allowing portrait sessions as well as weddings.
Some of my Favorite Garden of the Gods Elopements
Alex and Katie came from Tennessee to elope with Katie’s son, Walker. These two met at Nissan, where they both work as engineers. At first, Katie tried to set Alex up with her friend. Eventually, she realized she would be a better match for him, so they started dating. Alex had elaborate plans to propose while flying a plane! When Katie refused to fly with him he unexpectedly proposed on her back porch. He actually dropped the ring, he was so nervous. Luckily, Katie said yes anyway! They decided to elope at Garden of the Gods because of its unique beauty. They are hoping to have their honeymoon in Puerto Rico, later this summer.
